About Johanna O’Brien

Life is a beautiful gift, and each of us carries a deep desire to flourish and experience it fully. Yet we all encounter seasons of limitation, challenge, and uncertainty—moments that invite us to look within, pay closer attention to what surrounds us, and reflect on our purpose. These experiences can also bring confusion or overwhelm, making it difficult to stay connected to who we are and to the goodness within us.

My goal is to walk with you on your journey toward flourishing, healing, and wholeness. My therapeutic approach is person-centered, honoring you as a whole person and upholding your dignity as a beloved child of God. I believe every individual has the capacity and freedom to grow, heal, and thrive. Together, we will explore meaningful ways to cultivate insight and hope—even in the midst of hardship.

I am passionate about helping clients become more emotionally attuned, gaining clarity about what is most present and meaningful in their inner and outer world. By learning how emotions offer important information, clients can develop greater resilience, self-understanding, and integration. With more than eight years of experience as an educator, I am also drawn to incorporating psychoeducation into the therapeutic process.

I use an integrative, research-supported approach that includes ACT, CBT, expressive arts, somatic work, and mindfulness, while thoughtfully integrating Catholic anthropology.

I hold a master’s degree in education and curriculum instruction and am currently completing my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Divine Mercy University. I practice under the supervision of Irene Pruitt, LPC. I am fluent in Spanish and look forward to serving the Hispanic and Latino community.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, reading, watercoloring, baking bread, taking nature walks, and trying new recipes.
