About Micole Amalu
I am a graduate counseling student at Colorado Christian University, working toward my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, which I expect to complete in August 2026. My clinical work is supervised by Irene Pruitt, LPC.
I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology from Neumann University, and I’ve always felt called to work with people in a deep and intentional way. After college, I spent several years serving as a missionary to college students with FOCUS, where I developed a love for one-on-one relationships and saw firsthand the complex connection between mental health and spiritual growth. That experience deepened my desire to help people find greater freedom and encounter Christ more fully.
I also have a special heart for working with children. I create a safe and supportive space where kids can express themselves through play, creativity, and conversation at their own pace. With gentleness and patience, I help children name their feelings, build resilience, and develop healthy ways of coping with life’s challenges. My goal is to help each child feel seen, understood, and empowered to grow within the security of a caring therapeutic relationship.
I believe every person is inherently good, worthy of love, and created to flourish. Life inevitably brings suffering—through grief, trauma, conflict, or stress—but therapy offers a space to wrestle with those experiences and move toward healing and wholeness. I approach counseling from a holistic, attachment-based perspective, always with the goal of helping people reconnect with their authentic selves. It’s an honor to walk alongside you in this process.
